Minneapolis, Minnesota Office Neda Shahghasemi is a summer/fall associate at Igbanugo Partners Int'l Law Firm, PLLC. A third-year law student at Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, she expects to graduate in May of 2009. At Igbanugo Partners, Ms. Shahghasemi’s responsibilities include preparing immigration petitions and applications; assisting with motions and appeals before the federal courts, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the Executive Office for Immigration Review; and interviewing witnesses, preparing affidavits and gathering documentary evidence for clients. At Hamline University School of Law, Ms. Shahghasemi focuses her studies in the areas of International Business Transaction, International Commercial Arbitration, and Foreign Direct Investment. During her second year at Hamline, Ms. Shahghasemi represented her school in Willem C. Vis (East) International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Hong Kong. Ms. Shahghasemi and her teammate were finalists in the competition and their Respondent brief won an honorary mention in Hong Kong. During her final year at Hamline, Ms. Shahghasemi assists Professor Joseph Daly with researching and publishing materials on Arbitration Practice and Procedure. On November 1, 2008, she also participated in the Foreign Direct Investment International Moot Competition at Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts. As one of the top 5 best oralists in the competition, Ms.Shahghasemi earned recognition as an Honorable Mention Advocate. Ms. Shahghasemi graduated in 2005 from the University of Minnesota in Twin Cities, Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biomedical Engineering. She is fluent in written and spoken Farsi (Iranian) and she has a basic understanding of Arabic.
