Katie DeGrio is an attorney with Igbanugo Partners Int'l Law Firm, PLLC focusing on Immigration and Nationality law.  Ms. DeGrio is licensed to practice in the State of Minnesota, the Federal District Court of Minnesota and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh and Eighth Circuits.

At Igbanugo Partners Int'l Law Firm, PLLC, Ms. DeGrio represents family and employment based clients before several tribunals, including various Federal Courts, the Board of Immigration Appeals, the Executive Office for Immigration Review, the Citizenship and Immigration Services, U.S. Embassies and Consulates, and Customs and Border Protection. 

Her immigration practice includes assisting companies nationwide in obtaining permanent and temporary visa for employment based immigration cases specializing in EB-1 outstanding researcher petitions, H-1B specialty occupations, TN and NAFTA professionals, L-1A visas for multinational managers/executives, O visas (extraordinary ability) and P visas (cultural exchange) for athletes and entertainers.

She also handles naturalization applications and family-based immigration cases, such as marriage and relative petitions, and has experience with removal proceedings, including asylum claims and petitioning for abused family members.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. DeGrio clerked for the Honorable Kathleen Gearin of the Second Judicial District, St. Paul, Minnesota.    Ms. DeGrio is a 2004 graduate of Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she focused her studies in the areas of Alternative Dispute Resolution (a top-ranked program in the nation) and International Law.  Ms. DeGrio also holds certificates in Dispute Resolution and Arbitration Law and Practice. 

While at Hamline, Ms. DeGrio was a senior associate of the Hamline Journal of Public Law and Policy, a member of the admiralty moot court team, and the Research Assistant to the International Law and Admiralty Law Advisor. 

Ms. DeGrio graduated Cum Laude in 2000 from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Language and International Studies with a minor in Spanish.

Ms. DeGrio is a regular contributor to Mshale, a Twin Cities African newspaper, and a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Minnesota State Bar Association.
